An 89-year-old man has died after a wrong-way collision on the AP-7 motorway near Orihuela Costa in Alicante province. The crash happened at around 5.10am on Wednesday at kilometre 763 of the motorway, according to the Traffic Management Centre.
The Civil Guard said the incident involved a front-side collision between a van and a car. The van driver, who was travelling in the opposite direction, died at the scene. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.
In a separate incident on the CV-95 near Jacarilla, a 37-year-old man was injured. The Emergency Information and Coordination Centre said he was taken to Vega Baja Hospital in Orihuela suffering from neck pain.
