Torrevieja Council has approved the main project to develop four large park-and-ride car parks across the municipality, creating a total of 3,937 parking spaces. The overall investment amounts to €3,618,541, including VAT, and forms part of the town’s strategy to improve urban mobility and reduce traffic congestion, particularly in the busiest central areas.

The four sites will be located at Avenida de la Estación, Avenida Ramón del Valle Inclán–Torreta, Calle Juan Valera–CV-905, and Avenida Delfina Viudes near Parque Antonio Soria. Together they will provide 3,882 standard spaces and 55 adapted bays for people with reduced mobility.

Works will include land clearance, levelling and compaction, new road surfaces, drainage systems, horizontal and vertical signage, LED lighting towers, adapted access points and security features. All four sites will be developed simultaneously, with an estimated completion period of five months.

The council said the new high-capacity parking areas will help absorb surface traffic, reduce pressure on saturated zones and support more efficient and sustainable mobility, as Torrevieja continues to see growth in both residents and visitors.
