Benidorm has launched a new video game on the Roblox platform, inviting players to build the city’s most entertaining skyscraper while learning about its tourism offer and sustainability model. The initiative was presented on Thursday at Benidorm BeCiTi, located in the Centre Municipal El Torrejó.

According to the council, Benidorm has become the first tourist destination in Europe and the third in the world, after Tokyo and Singapore, to establish a presence on Roblox, the world’s largest gaming platform. The game draws on symbols of the city, including its skyline, beaches, gastronomy and family attractions, transforming them into a free interactive experience.

Designed in the popular ‘tycoon’ format, players begin with a basic space and progress by unlocking attractions, themed areas and facilities inspired by the real city. A character called Captain Pedro Z, based on former mayor Pedro Zaragoza Orts, guides users through missions and shares facts about Benidorm.

Mayor Toni Pérez said the project reinforces Benidorm’s reputation for innovation in tourism, while regional tourism secretary José Manuel Camarero described it as an example of how data and technology are shaping the future of destination promotion, particularly among younger audiences.
