Yesterday, Torrevieja celebrated Europe Day with a spectacular gala at the International Auditorium. The event was hosted by Francisco Reyes and began with opening speeches by Mayor Eduardo Dolón and Councillor Gitte Lund Thomsen, who highlighted the importance of European unity. They spoke about the shared values of the European community, reinforcing the notion that together Europe promotes economic well-being and peace.

The audience were treated to the European Anthem, known as ‘Ode to Joy’, performed by the Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra Ensemble. Following this, several local artists, including Zhanel and the group Sincopa, entertained the crowd with popular Eurovision songs, showcasing the area’s rich musical talent.

The gala concluded with a vibrant performance titled ‘Siempre Disco Remember’, featuring a medley of hits from the seventies, eighties, nineties, and the two thousands. This celebration was a testament to the cultural tapestry of Torrevieja, where individuals from various European nations come together in harmony.
