The annual croqueta competition in Torrevieja has been officially announced. Organised by the Association of Hospitality Entrepreneurs of Torrevieja and Comarca and sponsored by Roldan Netya, the event will take place from the twelfth to the eighteenth of May. Throughout that week, participating establishments will offer their culinary entries for the price of three euros and fifty pence, alongside a drink.

José Ignacio Pastor, president of the Association, highlighted the creativity and effort of local chefs, stating that each year the proposals become more elaborate and innovative. Rosario Martínez Chazarra, Councillor for Hospitality and Tourism, emphasised the high quality of ingredients used in the croquetas and encouraged both locals and tourists to partake in this affordable gastronomic event.

A jury has been selected to judge the croquetas, comprising key figures in the local hospitality sector and representatives from Roldan Netya. The winners of the contest will be revealed on Tuesday, the twentieth of May, with prizes including cash rewards and product boxes.

Sixteen establishments will participate this year, each presenting a unique flavour combination, such as Iberian ham and truffle or seafood-inspired creations. The Association invites everyone to join in the croqueta route, enjoy local flavours, and take part in special raffles by scanning QR codes available at the event.
