Torrevieja has inaugurated a new building on Calle Concepción, four years after construction began. The facility, which cost nearly €4.8 million, will house the offices of water company Agamed and a new university campus. Agamed funded the construction through a surface-rights arrangement, with the building due to return to municipal ownership at the end of 2028.

The university campus will occupy the second and third floors, the attic and the roof. It has 12 classrooms and can accommodate more than 430 students, with facilities for teaching, research, cultural activities and public events. The University of Alicante will offer courses, continuing education and research projects, while Miguel Hernández University will introduce a degree in Business and Tourism Management, delivered in face-to-face and online formats. The National University of Distance Education will expand its degrees, access courses, tutorials and permanent education provision.

Agamed will occupy the ground and first floors, bringing its administrative, technical and customer services together in one location. The offices will provide around 50 workstations, while the ground floor will include a modern public information area. Torrevieja Council has spent more than €347,000 equipping the university campus, including 40 laptops and 14 interactive digital screens. The building also includes photovoltaic installations and systems designed to reduce energy and water consumption.
