A fire has badly damaged part of a three-storey house in Torrevieja. The Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium said the blaze started on the second floor of the property on Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters contained the flames to that floor, preventing them from spreading to the rest of the house. The affected room suffered significant damage, but no one was inside when crews arrived and no injuries have been reported.
The property is at 17 Santomera Street. Firefighters received the alert at 13:38 and ended the operation at 15:08.
The response involved a command unit, a heavy urban fire engine, a sergeant, a crew leader and four firefighters from Torrevieja fire station.
