Torrevieja has opened its eighth Photography Competition paying tribute to older people. This year’s theme is “Torrevieja and me”, and the contest invites older residents to share their personal connection with the city through photographs of its landscapes, streets, beaches, traditions, everyday places and personal memories.

The competition is open to pensioners over 60 who are registered residents of Torrevieja. Each participant may submit up to two photographs, with entries accepted until 21 September 2026.

Photographs can be emailed to terceraedad@torrevieja.eu or delivered in a sealed envelope to the Older People’s Department at 5 Maldonado Street. Entries should include the participant’s name and a contact telephone number.

Councillor for Older People Inmaculada Montesinos said the competition offers a way to see Torrevieja through the experiences of its older residents. The awards ceremony will take place at the Municipal Theatre during a gala marking the International Day of Older Persons.
