Playa del Espejo in Los Alcázares has strengthened its accessibility after completing a renovation of its infrastructure and equipment. The improvements have made the beach a leading example of the council’s efforts to modernise bathing areas across the municipality.
New toilets have been installed at various points along the beach, alongside additional amphibious chairs and sun loungers. Shaded areas have also been upgraded to provide greater comfort for visitors, particularly those with reduced mobility.
The beach’s Accessible Point has been modernised, improving services and support for people with mobility difficulties. These changes form part of a wider strategy to ensure inclusive access to the coastline.
The upgrades are recognised in the 2026 Regional Beach Accessibility Plan for the Region of Murcia, prepared by the Technical Office for Accessibility of Famdif/Cocemfe-Murcia for the Regional Institute of Tourism.
