Torrevieja Council has confirmed a series of traffic and parking changes in the town centre from Monday, 3 August, as work on the port redevelopment continues.

Traffic on Paseo de la Libertad will be diverted in the direction of Calle Ramón y Cajal due to progress on the construction works. Drivers have been advised to pay close attention to temporary signage. Access to the car parks at Paseo Vista Alegre and the Leisure Centre will remain open.

At the same time, parking will return to Calle Ramón Gallud for most of the day. Vehicles will be allowed to park between 00:00 and 20:00, with parking prohibited daily from 20:00 to 24:00. Drivers must remove vehicles before 20:00 on the section between Calle Orihuela and Calle Apolo.

The council says the evening restriction is designed to ease congestion during the busiest hours, particularly in summer. The arrangement will be reviewed after the summer season, with options including a dedicated bus lane, regulated blue-zone parking, or maintaining the new system.
