The National Police have reinforced surveillance on Elche’s beaches with a special summer operation combining drone flights and ground patrols. The move is aimed at preventing pickpocketing, theft from vehicles and other incidents during the busy holiday season.

Aerial units from Alicante are carrying out drone flights along the Elche coastline, providing real-time images to officers on the ground. This allows police to detect potential offences or risky situations quickly and respond without delay.

The operation is supported by Response Group officers from Elche police station, who patrol on foot and in vehicles. The coordinated approach is focused on beaches with the highest number of bathers and visitors, expanding the areas under supervision and speeding up response times.

Police say the visible presence of officers and drones is designed to deter offenders and reassure residents and tourists. They advise people not to leave bags, mobile phones or wallets unattended, and not to keep valuables in sight inside vehicles. Suspicious behaviour can be reported by calling 091 or by speaking to officers on patrol.
