A suspected drug trafficker has been arrested at Murcia International Airport after allegedly attempting to leave Spain with a large quantity of drugs.
According to the Guardia Civil, the man had checked in luggage containing nearly 15 kilos of narcotics, including around four kilos of marijuana buds and more than 10 kilos of hashish resin. When officers discovered the drugs, he fled the airport before he could be detained.
Five days later, he returned to the same airport, reportedly intending to board a flight to Manchester. Investigators, who had been monitoring his movements since his escape, identified him as he attempted to pass through security and arrested him before departure.
The incident took place at the Region of Murcia International Airport, also known as Corvera Airport. The man now faces charges related to drug trafficking.
