A 21-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being arrested by the Guardia Civil in Torrevieja in connection with five alleged break-ins at homes across the municipality.

The investigation began after officers identified an increase in burglaries in residential areas and urbanisations on the outskirts of the town. Investigators said several of the incidents followed a similar pattern, with the suspect allegedly monitoring properties and taking advantage of short absences by homeowners. In one case, he is reported to have entered a property while the occupants were still inside.

After analysing evidence gathered at the scenes, officers identified the suspect and linked him to five offences of burglary with force. He was later located and arrested.

A search of his home led to the recovery of items believed to have been stolen, along with tools allegedly used to carry out the break-ins and clothing said to have been used to conceal his identity. He has since appeared before a judge in Torrevieja and has been placed in pre-trial custody.
