Police and fire crews in Guardamar del Segura are investigating a series of suspected arson attacks after multiple vehicles were set alight over the weekend. Between Saturday night and early Monday, nine cars and one motorcycle were burned, with additional vehicles and nearby homes suffering damage.

The first incidents were reported shortly after 11.00pm on Saturday, with further fires breaking out in nearby streets. Emergency services were repeatedly called out as flames spread between parked vehicles. A similar pattern was reported the following night despite increased police vigilance.

According to the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium, the fires appear to have been started deliberately. Investigators are examining the possibility that a timed device was placed on vehicles before igniting minutes later. Guardia Civil, Local Police and Judicial Police are working together to identify those responsible.

Local Police have appealed for help in tracing a tall, slim युवक aged between 16 and 19, described as having light brown hair with shaved sides. Extra patrols have been deployed, and residents are asked to contact police directly with any information as the town’s patron saint festivities continue.
