Torrevieja City Council has announced that the Valencian Regional Government is investing €289,000 to improve thermal comfort in the town’s public schools. The plan covers 21 educational centres and aims to address the high temperatures often recorded during much of the school year.

A total of €151,500 has been allocated to 14 centres providing Early Years, Primary, Special and Adult Education. The remaining €137,500 will be shared between seven secondary schools and specialist institutions, including the Official Language School and several local institutes.

Each centre will use its allocation to carry out works suited to its specific needs, with the goal of creating healthier, safer and more comfortable learning environments. The council says the investment marks an important step in strengthening public education infrastructure in Torrevieja.

Officials add that improving environmental conditions will support both students and staff, helping to ensure teaching activities can continue in suitable conditions despite rising temperatures.
