A 50-year-old man has been arrested by the Guardia Civil as the alleged operator of a drugs sales point in Albatera. Officers say the activity was being run from a property in the town.

The investigation began in April 2026 after a report from Albatera Local Police raised concerns about possible drug trafficking at the address. The Area of Investigation at the Guardia Civil’s main post in Dolores monitored the property and reported a steady flow of people entering and leaving after only a few minutes, both on foot and by car.

Officers stopped several vehicles linked to the address and found small quantities of hashish and cannabis on people who had just left the house. A subsequent early-morning search of the property, supported by specialist dog handlers and Alicante’s Citizen Security Unit, led to the seizure of 1,560 grams of hashish, 1,050 grams of cannabis, precision scales and equipment allegedly used to prepare the drugs for sale.

The man has been accused of an offence against public health for drug trafficking. After appearing before the Investigating Court in Orihuela, he was released subject to precautionary measures. The Guardia Civil has urged the public to continue reporting suspected drug-related activity through official channels.
