An English-speaking driver has been rescued after becoming disoriented and trapped in her car in a citrus grove known as Los Alcores, in the municipality of San Miguel de Salinas.
The alarm was raised at around 3pm on Saturday 27 June, when the Local Police received a call via the 112 emergency line reporting that the woman was stuck somewhere within an unspecified citrus farm. Communication proved difficult, and the available geolocation data only identified the wider municipal area.
Officers from San Miguel de Salinas Local Police, working alongside the Jacarilla Guardia Civil, launched a search operation. A drone from the Police Air Unit was deployed to scan roads, tracks and surrounding farmland.
After around two hours, the team located the vehicle at approximately 5pm. The driver was found to be in good health, and the operation ended safely and successfully.
