Terra Natura Murcia has welcomed seven wild white stork chicks, marking another successful breeding season for the colony that nests inside the park. The storks have chosen the site as their home since 2012, returning each year to build nests in the treetops above the wetlands.

Park officials say the calm surroundings and carefully maintained natural habitats have made it an attractive refuge. Over time, the birds have become regular summer visitors and a familiar sight for guests.

In the coming days, technicians from the local council and the Regional Ministry of the Environment will band the chicks. The process allows experts to monitor their movements, reproduction and behaviour, providing valuable data for future conservation work.

The park says the new arrivals are a positive sign that biodiversity at Terra Natura Murcia is thriving. It adds that the continued return of the storks shows the environment offers wildlife a safe and reliable place to breed and grow.
