Torrevieja Town Hall has invested €325,770 in eight new Local Police vehicles under a 48-month leasing contract. The fleet includes three non-plug-in hybrid SUV patrol cars, a nine-seat police van and four fully equipped motorcycles.

Mayor Eduardo Dolón presented the new vehicles alongside the Councillor for Security and Emergencies, Federico Alarcón, and senior police officers. The council says the renewal responds to an increase in officers and the city’s continued growth, with the registered population now exceeding 113,000.

The contract is divided into two lots, with €243,064 allocated to the three patrol cars and the van, and €82,705.92 for the motorcycles. All vehicles are equipped with LED emergency lighting, electronic sirens, TETRA radios, public address systems and operational safety equipment.

The leasing agreement covers maintenance, repairs, insurance, roadside assistance and replacement vehicles if needed. The council says the system ensures a modern, efficient fleet while avoiding long-term maintenance costs linked to ageing vehicles.
