Torrevieja Council has awarded a contract worth €8,592,352 to PAVASAL for the redevelopment of Los Locos beach seafront. The figure reflects a 14.65% reduction on the original tender price, and the works are expected to take 18 months to complete.

The project will transform 21,044 square metres of coastline, including more than 1,100 metres of pedestrianised seafront. Plans include new green spaces, tree planting, urban furniture, children’s play areas and outdoor fitness zones, with the aim of improving accessibility, sustainability and the link between the town and the beach.

The scheme has been designed by Valencian architect Juan Ignacio Fuster Marcos and adapted in line with reports from the regional Department for the Environment, Infrastructure and Territory, as well as the Provincial Coastal Service.

Urban Services Councillor Sandra Sánchez has said the works will be carried out in four phases to minimise disruption to tourism and ensure continued access to the beach. The first phase will cover the stretch between Calle La Sal and Avenida de La Purísima to Avenida de las Habaneras, reducing the impact during the summer period.
