Torrevieja Local Police have seized more than 300 items of suspected counterfeit clothing following a routine traffic stop in the town.
The incident began when a driver failed to stop at a junction at Avenida de la PurÃsima and Calle Goleta. Officers intercepted the vehicle in Calle Pedro Lorca and carried out an identification check.
During a search of the car, police discovered a large quantity of textile goods, including football shirts, sports trousers and swimwear bearing the logos of well-known commercial brands. Officers became suspicious about the authenticity of the items.
The driver was unable to provide documentation proving the legal origin of the merchandise. All items have been confiscated and placed at the disposal of the courts, while an investigation into an alleged offence against industrial property is now under way.
