Torrevieja will shine brighter than ever this Christmas, with extraordinary ornamental lighting for the Patron Saint Festivities and Christmas 2025 set to illuminate seventy streets, plazas, promenades, and urbanisations throughout the municipality. The official switch-on event is scheduled for the twenty-second of November, heralding the start of the festive season. Concha Sala, the councillor responsible for the service, has shared details of the project executed by Iluminaciones Granja, which will feature over five hundred light fixtures, including arches and decorative elements.

One exciting addition this year will be a giant snowman in Plaza Miguel Hernández, complemented by two winning arches from the inaugural School Drawing Competition designed for the Christmas lighting, located on Calle Clemente Gosálvez. Additionally, a majestic twenty-two metre natural Christmas tree will grace the entrance of the port area, adorned with twenty thousand warm-toned LED bulbs. Other notable installations include fifteen and twenty metre trees at key locations such as Paseo Juan Aparicio, Plaza Encarnación Puchol at La Mata, Plaza de Oriente, and the entrance to the “Tavi and Carmona” Sports Palace.

Plaza de La Madera will also unveil a new eight metre tree. Streets such as Concepción, Fotógrafos Darblade, and Canónigo Torres will once again become the epicentre of Christmas magic with a spectacular ceiling of light made up of more than fourteen kilometres of garlands, one hundred thousand bulbs, and one hundred and fifty moving stars. The project will also introduce lighting in new areas, including the hippie zone and near Eras de la Sal and the Ice Factory, featuring more than fifty light displays along Avenida Gregorio Marañón and Desiderio Rodríguez.

The churches of Inmaculada Concepción and Nuestra Señora del Rosario de La Mata will showcase festive decorations with over one hundred and fifty thousand LED lights. In addition, the La Purísima Concepción procession will feature fifty-six exclusive arches. The festive illuminations will extend to urbanisations such as La Siesta, Torreta Florida, Los Balcones, and Aguas Nuevas, which will see the installation of three thousand LED bulbs and ‘Merry Christmas’ signs in both English and Spanish for La Siesta. The total budget for the project amounts to three hundred and eighty-seven thousand four hundred and sixty-seven euros plus VAT. With these figures, Torrevieja solidifies its status as a Christmas reference point in Vega Baja, uniting tradition, innovation, and festive spirit across every corner of the city.
