The Guardia Civil has arrested an individual during Operation ‘Pilastra’, which resulted in the dismantling of an indoor greenhouse containing more than two thousand marijuana plants in full bloom. This operation took place in San Javier, in a large industrial unit suspected of illicit cannabis production.

The investigation commenced as officers from the Public Safety Prevention department gathered evidence pointing to the illegal production of marijuana. They located the industrial unit, which had been fraudulently connected to the electricity supply and was continuously occupied by an individual, indicating active marijuana cultivation.

Following the findings, law enforcement presented the results to the judicial authorities, who granted permission for a search warrant. A substantial police operation was conducted, leading to the discovery of over two thousand plants distributed across two rooms, each approximately two hundred square metres. The facility was fitted with air conditioning units, halogen lamps, power transformers, filters, and irrigation pumps.

As a result of the operation, one person has been arrested on charges of drug cultivation and production, along with stealing electricity. The investigation remains ongoing, and further arrests have not been ruled out.
