Firefighters successfully extinguished a fire on Tuesday that erupted in the electrical box of a shop located in a commercial building on República Dominicana Street in Orihuela Costa. The alarm was raised at eight twenty-eight in the morning, and after approximately two hours of intervention, firefighters concluded their operations by ten twenty-three. Thankfully, there were no injuries or personal damage reported.

The smoke had filled the entire premises, prompting the Torrevieja Fire Brigade not only to extinguish the blaze but also to carry out extensive smoke ventilation in multiple rooms. This incident follows another significant fire just over a month ago, where firefighters worked tirelessly for nearly four hours to combat a fire in an underground car park on Calle del Mar, number fifteen, in Cabo Roig, a commercial area near Aguamarina.

Although there were no injuries in the previous incident, substantial material damage was noted, with four vehicles completely burned and ten others damaged. The dense smoke led to the evacuation of the five-storey building. Furthermore, due to the extensive nature of the fire spreading to several vehicles, the entire available fire brigade from Torrevieja was dispatched to the scene, assisted by the Almoradí brigade.
