The Ayuntamiento has announced an investment of nearly one hundred and forty-six thousand euros to initiate the planning phase of this project, which is expected to take four months to complete. The move aligns with San Javier’s aim to reduce pollution and promote sustainable travel options for both residents and visitors.

As electric vehicles grow in popularity, particularly among tourists and newcomers, the municipality recognises the necessity for easily accessible charging points. This initiative is part of the regional Territorial Plan for Sustainable Tourism and supports the broader Sustainable Tourism Strategy for Destinations. The funding for this venture comes from the European Union through the Next Generation EU initiative, essential for helping San Javier achieve its environmental targets.

The chargers will feature the latest Charging Mode four technology, allowing for fast and reliable connections via advanced external chargers. Technical plans ensure that the chargers are securely installed with stable foundations and fixtures, prioritising user safety and accessibility. The Ayuntamiento believes that this initiative will enhance San Javier’s reputation as a sustainable holiday destination and ease the everyday lives of environmentally conscious residents.
