The Comunitat Valenciana has achieved record figures in international tourism during August, with tourist spending reaching two billion two hundred and fifty-one million euros. This represents a six point sixty-four percent increase in spending compared to August twenty twenty-four. Moreover, the region welcomed one million five hundred and forty thousand six hundred and sixty-three international tourists, which is a four point nine percent year-on-year increase. These figures represent the best records in history for the region in terms of both spending and arrivals in August.

The average spending per tourist reached one thousand four hundred and sixty-one euros, reflecting a one point sixty-nine percent rise. The daily average expenditure was one hundred and forty-three euros, showing a one point six percent increase, with an average stay of ten point two days. Marián Cano, the Consellera of Innovation, Industry, Trade, and Tourism, highlighted these results as evidence of the thriving tourism sector in the Comunitat Valenciana, noting the destination’s capability to remain attractive amid growing international competition.

Cano further emphasised the positive trend in tourist spending, which is a crucial indicator of the quality of tourism received and its economic impact. She pointed out the necessity to diversify the offerings and enhance visitor experiences to establish a sustainable tourism model.

In addition, from January to August twenty twenty-five, the Comunitat Valenciana welcomed eight million six hundred and thirty-one thousand four hundred and fifty-eight foreign tourists, a four point eight percent increase compared to the same period in twenty twenty-four. The accumulated spending from these visitors amounted to eleven billion two hundred and eighty million euros, marking a six point seven percent year-on-year increase. These results reinforce the status of international tourism as a key driver of the Valencian economy, significantly contributing to job creation, wealth generation, and the region’s international profile.
