The Orihuela Council has put out to tender a contract for this year’s Halloween celebrations, allocating a total of forty-six thousand five hundred euros. The funding aims to hire a specialised company responsible for the organisation and execution of events in both the city centre and on the coast. The initiative is organised by the Youth Department, which is currently led by Vox, and has seen a growing popularity in recent years.

The tender is divided into two lots, with different budgets for each location. Thirty thousand one hundred euros is designated for city centre events, while sixteen thousand four hundred euros will be spent on coastal activities. In the city centre, themed workshops are set to take place at the Glorieta Gabriel Miró on the thirty-first of October from five to eight in the evening, followed by a themed parade starting at eight o’clock.

The parade will feature three samba groups, two dance troupes, and several Halloween characters, along with coordinators and music-laden floats. Additionally, there will be a themed train ride for up to fifty people, a photo opportunity area, and a laser tag game scheduled for six in the evening, lasting for one hour. The contract also includes decorations specifically themed for Halloween and the provision of three inflatable attractions.

In the coastal area, similar activities will be offered, although with a difference in the scale of the events. These will take place at the car park between Capricorn and Scorpio streets, starting with workshops at five o’clock and continuing with a themed parade. Last year, due to serious flooding in Valencia, many Halloween events were cancelled, but a new initiative called ‘Solidarity Halloween’ was organised later to support those affected, collecting over eight hundred kilograms of essential supplies and food.
