In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Guardia Civil has arrested at least twenty-two individuals in Girona and Barcelona. The operation, which took place during the early hours of Tuesday, involved over three hundred agents from various divisions of the Guardia Civil.

During the operation, authorities conducted nineteen searches in different localities across Catalonia. The Guardia Civil has described this investigation as one of the most extensive in Catalonia, specifically led by their Girona division.

The collaboration between this operation and two others managed by the Mossos d’Esquadra has successfully disrupted criminal networks involved in drug trafficking, particularly focusing on cannabis, as well as arms trafficking.

These criminal activities were occurring in around fifteen localities across Barcelona, Girona, and Tarragona, highlighting the extensive reach of organized crime in the region. The efforts by law enforcement have been crucial in combating these illicit operations.
