Local police in Benidorm have arrested a forty-five-year-old English driver who was under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, when the driver fled from a routine breathalyser checkpoint. Police pursued him as he drove for four kilometres at one hundred and fifty kilometres per hour in the wrong lane on the N-three hundred thirty-two.

Authorities acted swiftly to prevent a potential head-on collision as they carefully followed the driver while turning on their lights to signal warning to other road users. Fortunately, the police managed to guide the ‘kamikaze’ vehicle off the road and into a safe area.

After successfully stopping the driver, officers conducted tests for alcohol and drugs, both of which yielded positive results. This incident highlights the importance of vigilance on the roads, especially concerning drivers under the influence of substances.

The local police continue to enforce strict measures against drink and drug driving to maintain public safety and discourage reckless behaviour on the roads.
