An eighty-year-old woman tragically passed away this afternoon while swimming at Los Narejos Beach, located in the municipality of Los Alcázares. Around one thirty in the afternoon, a witness alerted emergency services after spotting several beachgoers attempting to rescue the woman from the water, where she was found unconscious.

A lifeguard commenced cardiopulmonary resuscitation immediately upon arrival, along with support from local civil protection services and a patrol from the Civil Guard. In addition, a mobile emergency unit equipped with medical staff from the regional health service joined the efforts.

Despite the prompt response and resuscitation attempts, emergency responders were unable to save the woman’s life. The incident highlights the potential dangers of swimming, especially for elderly individuals, and further underlines the importance of water safety.
