April saw a notable rise in tourist occupancy rates in the province of Alicante, reaching seventy-eight point two percent, a slight increase over the previous year. In detail, the city of Alicante obtained eighty-one point six percent, whilst Playa de San Juan topped the charts with an impressive ninety-one point five percent occupancy rate.

Visitor demographics reveal that international tourists were the primary contributors, amounting to seventy percent of total arrivals. Among these, travellers from the United Kingdom constituted the largest group, followed by visitors from Ireland and France.

Looking ahead to the recent bridge holiday of May Day, which occurred between the first and fourth of May, Alicante recorded an occupancy rate of eighty-eight point six percent across the province, with the city achieving an even higher rate of ninety-two point eight percent.

These figures surpassed expectations, which had predicted eighty-five point nine percent occupancy in the city and eighty-two point six percent at the provincial level. Overall, the performance highlights Alicante’s growing appeal as a leading tourist destination.
