The Local Government Board of Torrevieja has taken a significant step towards improving parking facilities in the area by approving a project that includes six new alternative parking areas. The contract for this undertaking has been awarded to UTE OWNplan – JARS, with a budget of fifty-seven thousand nine hundred fifty-two euros and twenty-six cents. The project is expected to be delivered within one month.

These new parking spaces will be located in municipal plots across various parts of the city, covering a total area of over one hundred fifty thousand square metres. This initiative responds to the increasing demand for parking spots from residents and tourists alike, particularly in areas close to the urban centre.

The designated locations for the parking areas include Avenida de la Estación–Canal del Acequión, Calle Ciudad de Barcelona–Colegio Acequión, Residencial Parque de las Naciones, Torreta–José María de Pereda–Emilia Pardo Bazán, Juan Valera–CV905–Rosa Mazón Valero, and Avenida Delfina Viudes–Parque Antonio Soria–Mercadillo.

In addition to providing essential parking, the initiative aims to promote sustainable mobility by encouraging the use of public transport, cycling, and walking. Ultimately, this project seeks to alleviate urban congestion and reduce air pollution within the city.
