Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, AEMET, has issued a yellow warning for high temperatures in the Vega del Segura area of the Murcia region. Forecasters say temperatures could reach 39°C on Friday. The warning will remain in place from 13:00 until 21:00. According to information provided to the 1-1-2 emergency coordination centre, the probability of maximum temperatures reaching warning levels is between 40 and 70 per cent. Residents are being advised to take precautions during the hottest part of the day.
