Six people have now been arrested in connection with the death of an 83-year-old woman during a robbery at her home in Burgos.

The woman was found tied up and gagged in her flat in the Gamonal district on 13 October.

A post-mortem examination found she died from respiratory failure after being prevented from reaching the oxygen equipment she relied on.

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were arrested first.

Four further suspects have since been detained, with investigators saying the group allegedly divided up roles in the robbery.

Police have stressed that they do not believe it was a structured criminal organisation.
