The heart of Almorad will move this Sunday to the rhythm of art. Plaza de la Constitucin will become, from 12:00, a large open-air stage to celebrate International Dance Day, now in its fourth edition showcasing local talent.
The event is promoted by the Sports Department, led by Carmen Bern, and the Culture Department, led by Lourdes Caizares. It will feature the municipalitys four local academies: Escuela de Danza Manoli Garca, Academia de Danza Joseta, Dance Factory and A-mambo.
The day will begin with a reflective moment, with representatives from each school jointly reading this years international manifesto signed by choreographer Crystal Pite. Afterwards, each academy will present a display of the styles they work on daily, from classical dance to more contemporary and urban rhythms.
