The Supreme Court has launched an investigation into the financial activities of former Socialist Party (PSOE) secretary Santos Cerdán. Records indicate that Cerdán received a total of five hundred forty-three thousand six hundred fifty-six euros and eighty-four cents from the Congress of Deputies. However, when reviewing his bank accounts, only thirty-five thousand four hundred and fifty-three euros and twenty cents appear, leading to suspicions regarding the discrepancy in funds.

The court has requested detailed information from the PSOE regarding all payments or donations made to Cerdán and Koldo García, former advisor to José Luis Ábalos, dating back to two thousand fourteen. The inquiry seeks to determine if any funds may have been transferred through other bank accounts linked to the party’s parliamentary group.

Furthermore, the investigation has uncovered that Cerdán purportedly donated thirty-two thousand one hundred and ninety-four euros and ninety-eight cents to the PSOE, yet only five thousand seven hundred euros is evident from his personal bank records from two thousand fourteen to two thousand twenty-four. Additional records suggest that García has also received payments from the PSOE, which need clarification regarding their purpose and origin.

The Supreme Court continues to probe various financial transactions between Cerdán, García, and the PSOE, putting further pressure on the party to account for these discrepancies. The revelations have raised questions about the integrity of the financial dealings within the party, amidst ongoing scrutiny of its former officials.
