Emergency services in Spain and Portugal are battling extensive wildfires exacerbated by a severe heatwave. Spain has deployed an additional five hundred troops, increasing the total to one thousand nine hundred, as the death toll from the fires has risen to four. A firefighter tragically lost his life on Sunday due to an accident during firefighting efforts, according to the regional government of Castile and León.
In Portugal, another firefighter died in a tragic traffic accident on the same day.
