A twelve-year-old boy has lost his life following a fall at a rocky area in Cotolino, Castro Urdiales. The unfortunate incident occurred while he was playing with a friend. Emergency services received the alert at approximately twenty-one forty-five on Tuesday evening, indicating that a child had fallen from a cliff.

Local police, along with Castro firefighters and civil guards, quickly mobilised to the scene. The boy suffered a severe chest injury and was airlifted by the maritime rescue helicopter to the nearest airport. He was then transferred via an equipped ambulance to Valdecilla hospital.

Despite immediate medical attention, the boy suffered a cardiac arrest at the hospital and tragically passed away. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident are ongoing, as the community mourns the loss of a young life.
