The Government Delegation of the Murcia Region has announced that further arrests are expected in connection with recent disturbances in Torre Pacheco. This decision follows a meeting between Delegada Mariola Guevara, Mayor Pedro Ángel Roca, and local police and civil guard commanders, aimed at discussing the events of the past days and preparing for any potential scenarios.

At the meeting, Guevara expressed gratitude for the efforts of the local police and civil guard, who have been effectively managing the situation. One individual has already been arrested for public disorder, and multiple others have been identified for potential further arrests. Police have maintained a strong presence throughout the area to deter additional conflicts between small opposing groups.

Mayor Pedro Ángel Roca praised the collaboration between law enforcement agencies, which has restored normalcy within hours of the tensions. Roca emphasised the need for preventive measures to avoid any further altercations linked to recent events, reaffirming the commitment to ensuring community safety and harmony.

The civil guard plans to sustain significant security reinforcements in the upcoming days, focusing on sensitive areas to safeguard public order. Both local police and civil guard expressed satisfaction with their joint operational strategies, which have so far successfully prevented undesirable conflicts within the community.
