The National Police has detained sixty-one individuals during an extensive operation targeting child sexual exploitation. This operation included over one hundred searches conducted across nearly all provinces in the country. Authorities also investigate an additional seventeen suspects tied to the case.

Numerous electronic devices were seized, including thirty-seven mobile phones, sixty-three computers, and more than one thousand six hundred items of data storage. The Central Cybercrime Unit coordinated the investigation, alongside the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Computer Crime, resulting in the deployment of over two hundred officers.

Among the arrested individuals are a computer engineer from Castellón, who created a wired connection to share data with his brother, as well as a military veteran found in possession of several firearms and significant ammunition. A secondary school teacher in Las Palmas is also among those arrested, and investigations revealed he had foster children.

The National Police encourages citizens to report any information regarding child pornography anonymously via their designated email. They remind the public of the legal ramifications associated with the sharing and storing of such material, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding children’s wellbeing.
