Irene Montero, the political secretary of Podemos and a Member of the European Parliament, reinforced her party’s firm stance against any potential governance alliance between the Popular Party (PP) and Vox. Montero stressed that Podemos will categorically not facilitate such a government, labelling the current political landscape as a choice between the two main parties and calling for a stronger left-wing alternative.
In an interview, Montero highlighted the recent resignation of the Secretary of Organisation of the Socialist Party, Santos Cerdán, which came amid allegations tied to corruption. She argued that the political actions and tools employed by both the PP and the PSOE reinforce a system of corruption that serves the interests of the traditional parties rather than the public.
