Ángel Víctor Torres, the Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, is set to return to his duties following successful cancer treatment. Today, he will meet with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez at the Palacio de la Moncloa, marking the beginning of his gradual reintegration into active politics. This comes after several weeks of recovery post-surgery.

Sources from the Ministry confirmed that Torres was medically cleared for this step after a convalescence period of four weeks. Despite suspending his public agenda in mid-April to focus on his health, he managed to maintain coordination of his duties through his two secretaries of state.

Upon his return, Torres will participate in the subsequent Cabinet meeting and oversee preparations for the upcoming Conference of Presidents in Barcelona, scheduled for next month. His responsibilities also include chairing interministerial committees on immigration, urgent measures following recent severe weather, and the re-signification of Valle de Cuelgamuros.

In March, Torres disclosed his health condition during a Canary Islands PSOE congress, highlighting the importance of his role even amidst personal challenges. His return to office is seen as a significant step for both him and the government.
