The Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function, Óscar López, has expressed his concern over the recent publication of private WhatsApp messages between Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and former secretary of Organisation of the Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE), José Luis Ábalos. The report by El Mundo reveals discussions that suggest Sánchez requested Ábalos to silence internal criticism within the party. López has labelled the leak as serious and has called for an investigation.

During a recent gathering, López characterised the release of these private communications as a part of an ‘infamous campaign’ against the Prime Minister.
