The Ministry of the Interior has deactivated emergency level three in six out of eight autonomous communities that declared it, thanks to the recovery of the electrical supply. The regions of Murcia, Castilla-La Mancha, La Rioja, Galicia, Andalucía, and Comunidad Valenciana have all formally requested to downgrade to level two. This decision follows a meeting of the Extraordinary Coordination Committee led by Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska.

Murcia was the first to request this change, as its president, Fernando López Miras, confirmed that power supply has returned to one hundred percent. Following this, Castilla-La Mancha and Galicia made similar requests based on improvements in power supply restoration, with the latter noting a ninety-seven percent recovery.

La Rioja also sought to downgrade its emergency status, declaring normality returning, while Andalucía requested to regain management of the crisis resulting from the blackout, despite initial concerns about potential future outages. Each region stresses their good coordination with the central government during this challenging time.

Conversely, Extremadura and Madrid have decided not to downgrade the emergency level until further information about the blackout’s causes is gathered. Meanwhile, several regions including Cantabria and the Basque Country have initiated their own de-escalation, progressing to level one as they work to ensure ongoing readiness and coordination in case of further incidents.
