President Pedro Sánchez of Spain has outlined a significant increase in defence spending, amounting to ten billion four hundred seventy-one million euros, in a move to meet the commitment of achieving two per cent of the Gross Domestic Product by twenty twenty-five. This increase is set to be implemented four years ahead of schedule. In his address following the Cabinet meeting, Sánchez emphasised that this spending will not compromise investments in welfare or impact public deficits, ensuring that citizens are not financially burdened.
