In a significant operation led by Europol, the National Police in Spain has detained thirteen individuals involved in the distribution of child pornography. This coordinated crackdown spanned eleven European nations, with Spain contributing over one hundred agents to the cause.

During the operation, authorities executed eighteen search warrants across various locations in Spain. They confiscated thirty-nine electronic devices containing over forty-one thousand videos and twenty-eight thousand images of highly sensitive sexual content. Authorities note that the scale of these findings highlights the seriousness of the issue at hand.

The operation included participation from ten other countries, namely Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Poland, Romania, and Sweden. Collectively, the operation led to a total of one hundred sixty-six arrests and seven hundred seventy-four searches throughout Europe.

A spokesperson from the National Police indicated that the ages of the arrested individuals ranged from seventeen to fifty-one years. This diverse age range complicates investigations, as the profiles of offenders in these types of crimes do not conform to a singular pattern. Further investigations are ongoing, with five additional individuals, including one woman, currently under scrutiny.
