A judge from the Vilanova i la Geltrú court in Barcelona has decided to place the mother of a baby found dead in a rubbish bin under preventive detention. The case concerns allegations of murder. This decision comes as part of an ongoing investigation into the violent death of the infant.

The baby was discovered lifeless on the night of the twenty-second of December in a refuse container in Cubelles. Following the tragic incident, authorities apprehended several individuals in connection with the case.

The court has allowed two adults, a man and a woman, to be released provisionally under conditions requiring periodic appearances before the judiciary. Meanwhile, a seventeen-year-old male, also implicated in the case, was already placed in a closed juvenile detention facility prior to these recent developments.

The investigation is being carried out by the Mossos d’Esquadra, who arrested the mother, the young male, and the two adults in their fifties last Monday, pursuing leads related to the violence surrounding the baby’s death. Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
