Congress votes to lower drink driving limits
Congress has voted to begin processing a proposal to lower the legal alcohol limit for drivers.
The measure, put forward by the PSOE, would reduce the maximum level from zero-point-five grams of alcohol per litre of blood to zero-point-two — equivalent to zero-point-one milligrams per litre of exhaled air.
The proposal also aims to apply the same limit to all drivers, including professional and novice motorists.
It will now go through the parliamentary process before any change could take effect.
