Government approves new housing decrees
The Government has approved two new housing decrees following the eviction of 87-year-old Maricarmen from her Madrid home.
The measures extend protection against evictions for vulnerable households until 2030, while a second decree provides for the automatic renewal of certain rental contracts until 2028.
The Government also wants to restrict large investment funds from buying homes until 2028. The measures still need to be approved by Congress, with the vote expected on Friday.
