In Agost, Alicante, a twenty-five-year-old man is currently barricaded in his family home, where he has reportedly been since the early hours of the morning. The Guardia Civil has established a significant security presence around the property, but there are no hostages or injuries reported. Efforts are ongoing to negotiate his surrender.

Local Mayor Juanjo Castelló confirmed that police negotiators and psychologists have been trying to communicate with the man for several hours, along with support from his parents and siblings. Authorities are remaining patient as they work towards a peaceful resolution.

It has been reported that the man possesses several shotguns from a family tradition of hunting, which has heightened security concerns. Due to the situation, the vicinity around Calle Fermín Sánchez has been closed off to all traffic as a precaution while negotiations continue.

Police sources have expressed hope that, with continued dialogue and support, the man will eventually comply and voluntarily surrender his weapons.
